Jackson Sharp - Newborn Session

We were told by Heather and Darrell that Jackson loves to sleep all the time and barely ever has even opened his eyes.  They assured us he would be easy to work with and sleep through all our poses.  Well, that's just asking for trouble :)  Of course being in a new environment and put into poses he was not used to upset their little sleeper and kept him up for most of the shoot.  Fortunately, Heather being a pediatric nurse and dealing with infants everyday, both parents were extremely comfortable holding Jackson and we were able to get some fantastic shots of the three of them.  Eventually he did sleep a bit and we got some shots of Jackson by himself too.

Darrell really wanted to get a photo of Jackson in his little Harley hat but he was not having anything to do with it.

Cassandra and Billy - Engagement Session

We have been very excited to photograph Cassandra and Billy's wedding at Nature's Inn in Bald Eagle State Forest, but after last night's engagement session we are even more excited.  We met at the arboretum on Penn State campus and had a fantastic session.  They hit it off right away and were very natural in front of the camera.  Great job guys, see you next month!

Lauren and Mike's wedding

This past Saturday was our first time photographing a reception at the Penn State Arboretum.  We have been there plenty of times before for portrait shoots but seeing the way they set it up for a wedding was really interesting.  The day began at the Days Inn photographing the preparation and moved on to campus for some photos with the girls and on the Faith United Church of Christ in downtown State College.  A quick detour to the JoePa statue by Beaver Stadium and we were off to the Arboretum.

We had met Lauren when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding we photographed a few years ago and got to know Mike better during our initial meetings and the engagement session, so the day was mostly stress free - like working with good friends.  Overall, it was a beautiful event with a fantastic couple and we are very pleased with the photos!
